The movie starts off when Cal (Steve Carell) learns that his wife (Julianna Moore) wants a divorce. She admits that she slept with another man, a work colleague in fact. Cal, feeling super depressed, hangs out in a bar where he pours his heart out to every girl he meets. This gets on the nerves of Jacob (Ryan Gosling), a true ladies man. Jacob decides to help Cal against his better judgment and show him how to be like him. After a few sessions with Jacob, Cal becomes more self-confident and eventually becomes pretty good with the ladies. Jacob meets Hannah in a bar and she completely changes him and his ways. That's when Jacob is put in a position where he's never been before. He doesn't know what to do and must ask advice to Cal. So in a way, you could say that Cal and Jacob exchanged roles.
The movie did have some funny moments, but not enough in my opinion. And for that reason, I'm giving this movie a 6.5/10.
