There are many movies about drugs out there. For example, there's Blow, Trainspotting, Traffic and many more just to name a few. How does this movie measures up? Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly deliver a strong performance in this movie. So what's it about? The movie follows the lifes of Harry (Jared Leto), Mary-Ann (Jennifer Connelly), Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) and Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn). Jared Leto plays a typical junky ready to do anything to score drugs. He even steals his own mom's television for money! Tyrone is Harry's friend, and both of them decide to form a business and sell drugs on the streets. Jennifer plays Harry's girlfriend and she's even more of a junky than Harry. The things she will do for money, I won't even say! Harry's mom, Sara is obsessed about being on television and she decides to lose weight to look better for television.
The way that the movie was shot is pretty weird. Sometimes you'll see eyes after injecting drugs, sometimes you'll see people in slow motion. After seeing this movie, it makes me happy that I'm not a drug addict.
I give this movie a 8/10
