Sneaker Pimps - Bloodsport Review

Sneaker Pimps - Bloodsport Review

Bloodsport is Sneaker Pimp's last album before they vanished into thin air. It features Chris Corner on vocals as he was on album Splinter. Things haven't been easy for these guys since they asked Kelli Ali to leave the group, hasn't it? They wanted a different sound to their band, but in doing so, they lost a lot of fans. So much so in fact, that they tried to make a fourth album with a female on vocals. Unfortunately that album never saw the light of day.

Bloodsport is a lot more electronic than their previous album Splinter which featured more guitar riffs. This album has a lot of electro beats, samples and features less guitar. Chris Corner's voice is very omnipresent on this album as always.

Memorable tracks include "Kiro TV", "Sick", "Loretta Young Silks", "Bloodsport" and "Think Harder".

Overall it's a decent album from a band who tried too much to change their sound. Is it any wonder that they've asked Corner to leave vocals after this album?

I give this album a 7.5/10
