Nicki Minaj's album is a mix between Lady GaGa and Lil Kim. Her songs are very original and sometimes a little too original. Notable songs are "Super Bass", "Moment 4 Life ft. Drake", and "Check It Out ft. Will.i.am". Have you seen her video for the song Super Bass? Her video is as weird as some songs on this album. It's easy to say that Miss Minaj has her own sound. And her trademark fast-talking rhymes are what makes her so unique. I had the chance to see her in concert in Montreal back in August. Unfortunately her songs had too much bass to hear her voice clearly.
Other songs worth mentionning are "Blazin' ft. Kanye West" which uses samples from the song "Don't You (Forget About Me)" from Simple Minds, "Fly ft. Rihanna", "I'm The Best" which is ironically to me one of the best songs off the album, "Last Chance ft. Natasha Bedingfield".
I highly suggest getting the Deluxe Edition rather than the normal cd. The Deluxe Edition contains 16 songs and the normal version only has 13 songs. And furthermore, the normal version is lacking the super hit "Super Bass".
For the highly original sound of Nicki Minaj, I award this album a 7/10
