The Hunger Games Review

The Hunger Games Review
The Hunger Games Review

May the odds be ever in your favor! The movie Hunger Games is trying to be the next Harry Potter, and frankly, it's doing a pretty good job! It is the movie to see at the moment. Everyone is talking about it, and with reason. The movie features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, a young teenage girl living in what appears to be a poor town. We learn that every year, they have what they call Hunger Games, which is a fight to the death game played by the children. The game is played by 24 children from every zone. Katniss is from district 12, as his her friend Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). The movie also stars Donald Sutherland as President Coriolanius and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy. At first, when we meet Haymitch, he stands out as a douchbag, only thinking of himself. But after he sobers up, he turns out to be a pretty good mentor for Peeta and Katniss.

The movie was pretty good. The difference between the working class is huge! When we first see Katniss in her home town, she's very poor. But when she prepares for the hunger games, we see the high class and their clothes. Day and night! One thing that I didn't like though, is that I thought that it took a little too much time for the games to start. And when it did start, it didn't last long enough.

The acting was very good as well. I give this movie a good 8/10.
