Within Temptation - The Unforgiving Review

Within Temptation - The Unforgiving Review

Not so long ago, I was comparing Within Temptation to Nightwish. But with their last 2 releases, it sounds more like Evanescence. Is that necessarily a bad thing? No, it's actually a better sound than Evanescence, especially since Evanescence's last cd. Within Temptation signature sound has powerful guitar riffs, fast drums, keys and of course their vocalist. Judging by their album cover, you'd almost think that these guys were teenagers. That's because this album is based upon a comic book that was released on the same date. But they've been around since 1996, as vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt formed the band. So far the album has two singles "Faster" and "Sinead". Longtime fans may be disappointed though, as the sound is very different from their Mother Earth and Enter album days. I highly recommend you check out both of those albums.

I give this album a 7/10
