DEV - The Night The Sun Came Review

DEV - The Night The Sun Came Review

If there's one thing that can be said about this album is that it's full of different styles. The genres are all over the map for this release. After listening to her song "Bass Down Low", DEV (whose real name is Devin Star Tailes) seemed pretentious. I could make a fast assumption and compare her to Kesha, but that would be too easy and unfair to her. In her songs, she uses a lot of samples and she really likes to mess around with her voice. She really seems to have ability for lyrics flow. She was discovered by the band The Cataracts in 2009. Her hit songs on this album include "Bass Down Low", "In The Dark" and "Kiss My Lips". The critics for this album were kind of harsh to her stating that she was just another Kesha clone. While she does has similarity with Kesha, I find her to be a little more mature than her.

I award this album with a 8/10

If you enjoy this album, you might also enjoy Kesha.
