The Cardigans - Gran Turismo Review

The Cardigans Gran Turismo Review
The Cardigans - Gran Turismo Review

If you've seen the movie Romeo and Juliet, then you surely know the song "Lovefool". It was poppy, happy and joyful. This album Gran Turismo has nothing to do with that period. It was deemed as an experimental album. To be honest, I think it's too bad they haven't made another like this one. The album released after this one returned to their roots. But let's stay with the topic at hand, shall we? This album features heavy guitar riffs, electronic beats, bass and of course Nina's vocals. This album feels somewhat like a voyage, a trip through Nina's lyrics and her band. There are songs like "Hanging Around" that feature samples which remind me of some old game on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It's kind of funny that their song "My Favorite Game" was featured on the game Gran Turismo 2 on the Playstation 2 game console. Here are the music videos for "My Favorite Game" and "Erase and Rewind":

There's only 11 tracks on this album, and no tracks to skip really. And for this reason I award this album a 7.5/10
