One Hour Photo Review

One Hour Photo Review
One Hour Photo Review

To those expecting a comedy here with this movie, you can walk away right now... This is definitely NOT a film you'd expect with such actors as Robin Williams. But actually, this is not Robin's first movie where he's not a comedian. He also played in Insomnia as a crime writer. But let's focus on the movie at hand. One Hour Photo is a psychological thriller about Sy Parrish (Williams), a photo clerk who works at SavMart (kind of a big surface Walmart). Sy is an old, sad and lonely person who's very serious about his job. Sy tends to be a little too friendly to people, and sometimes that scares them.

There is one family for whom he's done their prints for years, the Yorkin's. A lot of times during the movie, we'll see Sy daydreaming about being part of the Yorkin's family. He even calls Jake his nephem when people ask him.

When we see him at his lonely apartment, we notice that Sy has double prints of the Yorkin family on his wall. What's very disturbing is that there are hundreds of photographs. One day, at work, Sy finds out that Will (Jake's father) is cheating on his wife Nina. Sy then decides that Will must pay for throwing away the perfect life.

The music in the movie is very disturbing and helps create an atmosphere.

If you wish to see a good thriller, with an actor who delivers a very good performance, then watch it!

I give it a 7.5/10
