MurpH - J'monte Le Ton, J'affiche Mes Couleurs Review

There are artists out there that deserve more recognition than they have. MurpH, unfortunately is one of these said artists. This rapper is only in his mid 20's, and he's already rapping like a pro. MurpH co-founded the label Looser in 2004 with Jules Gosselin-Beaudet and eventually renamed the label Superseize in 2008.

How does this album sound? Despite not being mastered by people like Dr. Dre or Timbaland, it sounds surprisingly professional. Well if I had to compare it to something, I'd say it sounds a tad like the Quebecer band Kamaro. MurpH uses a lot of samples in his songs and the lyrics often refers to politics, sex and personal experiences. He has a certain talent for word flow. Which makes me wonder how well he'd sing in English.

Most notable tracks include "Imagine (Interlude)", "Comeback Kid", "Alerte Generale" and "C'est Du Superseize".

This album is entirely sung in French and features 13 tracks. it's about 47 minutes long.

For his originality and a very nice cd cover, I award this album with a 7.5/10
