Avril Lavigne - Goodbye Lullaby Review

Avril Lavigne - Goodbye Lullaby Review

Avril Lavigne is a business woman. Whoah, I never thought I'd say that 10 years ago when she released her first album! But it is true, she's grown since her Let Go debut. With a new clothing line and 2 perfumes she's not wasting any time is she? This album is a lot more mature than her previous albums. Her songs are catchy, well-written and more personal. Her first single "What The Hell" however is anything but mature. There are some songs on this disc though that still scream "I'm a punk-rock princess".Here are the best tracks from the album.

Obviously "What The Hell" since it's the first single. On this song she shows that she can still be be bitchy and get away with it. Very catchy song.

Next song worth listening to is "Wish You Were Here". No it's not a reprise of the Pink Floyd song. Listen to it and try to to have the lyrics "Damn, damn, damn, what I'd do to have you here, here, here, I wish you were here" stuck in your head afterwards.

The song "Smile" is another hit that starts with "you know that I'm a crazy bitch" which is what I was talking about earlier. She still has that punk-rock princess attitude on some songs.

"Everybody Hurts" is another sure hit. The acoustic guitar parts are very present in this song. There are even violins in the background. It's funny that she has 2 songs with titles already used by other artists. Once more, this song has nothing to do with R.E.M.

Another song that caught my attention was "Darlin". Again, acoustic guitar is very present in this track. Very emotional song.

Overall this is a pretty good album with hardly any filler tracks. Avril delivers a solid album with Goodbye Lullaby despite being busy with her other ventures.

I give this album a 7.5/10
