1408 Review

1408 Review
1408 Review

This terrifying movie is in fact based on the short story by Stephen King. It stars John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. It's about Mike (Cusack) who's an author who writes horror novels. Mike's job basically means that he visits houses that claim to be haunted, and then awards them with scores. Mike has been doing this a long time, and has yet to find anything conclusive. This downward spiral has left him uninspired and pessimistic towards ghosts existence. That is until he step foot inside room 1408 of The Dolphin hotel in New York City. When he arrives at the hotel, he meets the hotel manager (Jackson) who strongly advises Mike to not enter room 1408. Mike really doesn't care for the warning of the hotel manager and finally gets to stay the night in the room 1408.

Having never read the short story I can't say if the movie resembles the original story.

I can tell you though that this is one scary film and that it is worth seeing.

I give this movie 7.5/10
